Application Process
  1. Complete and submit the IHSS Provider Registry Application.
  2. Attend an In-person Interview with Registry Staff.
  3. If your In-person Interview is successful, Registry staff will contact your references to verify your employment history and personal references.
  4. Clear a Department of Justice (DOJ) Criminal Background Investigation (CBI) / Live Scan fingerprinting. (If you have already completed Live Scan fingerprinting for Contra Costa County IHSS, you will not be required to re-do it, unless advised by Registry Staff otherwise)
  5. After you clear the background check, you will attend New Provider Orientation. (If you are a current IHSS provider and have attended New Provider Orientation within the last year, you will skip this step)
  6. Attend Registry Orientation with a Registry Specialist.
Once added to the Registry, you will interview with IHSS Consumers who are looking to hire an IHSS Provider. You and the Consumer will decide if you are a good fit for each other. The Registry does not guarantee employment.
